Mr. Benedict Amelorku, a proud student of the University, has been elected as the General Secretary of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
Mr. Amelorku’s victory marks a key achievement for KNUST, as he is set to serve and represent the interests of over 12.5 million students across Ghana and beyond.
His election reflects the confidence reposed in KNUST students as leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to national student development and policy dialogue.
In a message of appreciation, the KNUST Students’ Secretariat expressed gratitude to the University’s management, staff, and student body for their immense support and guidance throughout the election process.
“We are deeply grateful for the love and care shown us as a Secretariat and as a son, which ensured our noble University was properly represented at the helm of student leadership,” the statement read.
“We were able to make this possible because of your able leadership and for that, we say thank you.”
Mr. Amelorku campaigned on the theme “Educate to Liberate, Lead to Transform”, reflecting his commitment to transformative leadership and student empowerment under the slogan #Let’sKeepMoving.
